Knights and Pirates

Even with many places in an all-out Christmas mode, two area house theaters -- Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament, and Dolly Parton's "Pirates Voyage Fun Feast & Adventure" -- have their regular shows through December.

Medieval Times, which serves meals in front of knights dueling on horseback, has shows at 6 pm Friday - Saturday, Tuesday - Thursday, and December 24 - 25 and 27 - 30, as well as 5:45 pm December 31. Tickets plus tax are: $50.95 for ages 13 and older, and $30.95 ages 12 and younger. The theater "castle" is just west of Myrtle Beach off U.S. 501 and George Bishop Parkway. Pirates Voyage, a dinner adventure aboard a ship set opened in June 2011, includes pirate battles, as well as mermaids and animal appearances. Show times are 6 pm Friday, Sunday, Thursday, and December 23, 26, 30, 31. 4 pm, 6 pm, 8 pm Saturday. 6 pm and 8 pm December 27, 28, 29. Preshow starts one hour beforehand. Tickets including tax are $45.77 or $51.22 for ages 12 and older. $23.97 or $29.42 for ages 4 through 11. Ages 3 and younger are free and sit on adult's lap.
